How To: Garden Markers

Are used lids stacking up in your kitchen?

Are used lids stacking up in your kitchen?

If any of you are canners, then I am sure there are numerous used lids around your kitchen or stacked in a drawer somewhere; I certainly do! I can’t stand throwing them away because I think there must be some other way to use them other than closing up the random jars that aren’t quite emptied yet. Thanks to my mom, we have an idea to use them as garden markers.

Materials

Materials:

  • Used Lids
  • Sharpie
  • Large Popsicle Sticks
  • Hot Glue Gun/ Sticks

Directions:

Wash all the used lids to make sure they are clean to write and glue on.

With a sharpie, write the name of your plant or variety.

Place glue on the top of the popsicle stick and place it on the opposite side of the writing.

Place glue on the top of the popsicle stick and place it on the opposite side of the writing on the lid.

Let the glue completely dry between the sticks and the lids.

Complete!

Complete! Label your garden as needed.

This is a super easy and cheap way to recycle used jar lids and label your garden.

Get your Head in the Garden,

Sarah
