I heard through the grapevine that there were a few people wanting the pear marmalade recipe! Here it is, enjoy!
4 cups of chopped pears
4 cups of sugar
1 – 8oz can of crushed pineapple
1 package of fruit sure-jell
Chop the pears.
Combine the pears and sugar in a large pan. Start the pears on low heat; then increase to medium, stirring constantly.
Cook the pears until tender – about 15 to 20 minutes.
Mash the pears (skip if a food processor was used) and stir in the pineapple. Bring it to a boil. Stir in the sure-jell and bring to a boil again.
Spoon the mixture into hot jars leaving ¼ inch head space and seal with hot lids.
This recipe yields 3 to 4 pints.
Caution: You can NOT double this recipe (because of the sure-jell). The recipe is made according to the sure-jell packet, therefore ingredient amounts should not vary.
